Hello, greetings from 13,600 feet on Kilimanjaro! This is Todd Rutledge, calling in on behalf of our team. Everyone’s doing great.
We had a good hike today of about six and a half hours, climbing from our previous camp called Shira 1, across a long plateau and culminating with a series of steeper climbs up to this camp. We have a stunning view of the mountain, and it’s a beautiful, clear day.
Everyone’s feeling the effects of the thinner air a little bit, but everyone’s doing great. We are moving pole pole, which is very slowly, and spirits are high.
Tomorrow, the plan is to take an acclimatization hike up to over 15,000 feet to a spot called the Lava Tower, and then we’ll descend to our next camp, which is called Barranca Camp.
So anyway, that’s what we’ve got. We’re doing great. Hello to everybody back home, and thanks for all your support!

Excellent! It’s great to see everyone’s smiling faces. Have you eaten any Wildabeast around the campfire yet? Just kidding. Have a great day today!
