The May 14th team held tight at 14 Camp today and is taking the time they need to plan their next move. Decisions like this are a normal part of any Denali expedition, especially as teams work their way into the upper mountain phase of the climb.
There’s a lot that goes into figuring out the right next step at this stage. Weather, conditions on the upper mountain, how the team is feeling, and the bigger picture of the climb all factor into the conversation. Experienced guides spend a lot of time weighing these variables, and the right answer often comes down to a careful read of what the mountain is offering on any given day. The May 14th team is in good hands and approaching these decisions thoughtfully.
For now, the team is settled in at 14 Camp, resting up, staying patient, and looking ahead to what comes next. We’ll have more to share as the team’s plan takes shape, and we’re proud of the steady, deliberate way they’ve been climbing this mountain.
