Mija’s team took a well-earned rest and weather day at Camp 2 today. With less-than-ideal conditions on the route ahead, the team made the call to stay put, refuel, and let their bodies recover from the work they’ve put in. Rest days are an important part of any Denali expedition as they give climbers a chance to hydrate, eat, sleep, and continue acclimatizing to the altitude without the added strain of moving heavy loads. Once the weather opens up, the plan is to push around the corner and cache supplies higher up the route, setting them up for their next move.
Take a listen as Ryan recaps yesterday’s events and shares what life inside the tent has been like.
