The January 8 Aconcagua team moved up to “Helicopter Camp” at 5480m or nearly 18,000ft today! The guys are moving well and enjoying some beautiful weather.  There is snow on the upper mountain this season which is always helpful for getting good clean water at the upper camps, so life is good on Aconcagua.

They’ll spend tomorrow (Sunday the 18th) acclimatizing and recovering as they watch the weather forecast closely and pick their summit day. The next move will be to high camp and then their summit attempt will be the following morning.
