The June 18th Team has been holding on the mountain, assessing conditions and finalizing their descent plan. They’ve made a solid push to the mid-mountain, reaching 14,200 feet (4,328 m), and have spent meaningful time building skills and resilience in one of the most dynamic environments on Earth.
When they begin their return, the team will descend over 6,000 vertical feet across 13+ miles of terrain including steep snow slopes and crevassed glacier sections. With safety as their top priority, the team is moving intentionally and trusting the timing of their journey. All climbers are healthy and morale is high as they prepare for the final leg of their expedition.
No teams have been able to push beyond high camp due to sustained avalanche risk on the Autobahn. Despite that, this team has accomplished something huge—stepping into the Alaska Range with courage, curiosity, and commitment. We’re stoked on their effort and incredibly proud to call them part of the Mountain Trip family!
