June 25th Team Makes Excellent Time to 14 Camp

The June 25th team has made an impressive push and is already settled at Camp 3, perched at 14,200 feet (4,328 meters) on Denali’s West Buttress. After landing at the Kahiltna Glacier airstrip (7,200 ft / 2,195 m), the team wasted no time, completing a single carry to Camp 2 at 9,800 ft (2,987 m) yesterday — a major effort with heavy packs and full sleds.

Today, they climbed from 9,800 to 14,200 feet in one continuous push, making their way up Motorcycle Hill, Squirrel Hill, and around the dramatic Windy Corner before arriving at 14 Camp just in time for a golden sunset. With strong legs and high morale, the team benefited from kind, supportive gestures by other climbers on the mountain, allowing for smoother travel on this challenging stretch of terrain.

They capped the day with a warm, filling dinner and are now tucked into their tents, grateful for the stillness and the views. Tomorrow will be a well-earned rest day — time to hydrate, eat, sleep, and take in the incredible scenery from one of the most iconic camps on Denali. Stay tuned for more from the June 25th team as they recover and prepare for their move toward the upper mountain.
