The June 9th team is holding strong at 14 Camp (14,200 ft / 4,328 m) after a full-on push yesterday from 11 Camp up the steep terrain of the fixed lines. It was a big effort — heavy packs, high altitude, and a demanding climb — so today’s slower pace was more than welcome. The team woke up rested and recharged, grateful for a full night’s sleep and clear skies above. They took a casual walk over to the ranger camp this morning to check in on the upcoming forecast before planning their next move.
With bellies full and energy stores replenished, the crew is soaking in the views and bracing for the high-altitude push still ahead. Spirits are high, but the reality of what’s to come — a move to 17 Camp (17,200 ft / 5,243 m) and possibly a summit bid — is starting to set in. Weather will be the deciding factor, and the team is staying flexible and focused. Butterflies are setting in, but so is the stoke. Over and out from 14 Camp — tap the recording link below to hear their live dispatch from the mountain.
