June 5th Team Calls in from High Camp at 17K

Josh and the June 5th team checked in today from High Camp — perched at a breathtaking 17,200 ft on the West Buttress of Denali. After the big move up yesterday, the crew took a well-earned rest day to focus on the essentials: eat, drink, breathe, and acclimate.

At this altitude — the highest of the entire climb — the air is thin, the weather unpredictable, and energy conservation becomes critical. The team spent the day hydrating, fueling up with warm meals, reinforcing camp, and letting their bodies adjust to the extreme elevation.

Now, all eyes are on the forecast. If the mountain offers a window of clear skies and manageable winds tomorrow, the team is poised to make their summit bid — a final push to 20,310 ft (6,190 m), the highest point in North America.

Everyone is feeling strong and ready. Spirits are high, and the crew is holding space for the summit — one step, one breath at a time.

Stay tuned for the next update and keep your fingers crossed for calm skies above the summit ridge. Let’s hope the next check-in comes from the top of the continent!
