Stephan rang in from Camp 3, where the remaining members of the May 12th team have been camped for seven days. They discussed whether or not to remain at camp or to descend, given that the weather forecast is calling for a fairly significant storm arriving over the next couple of days. They ultimately decided to fortify their camp and ride out the storm.
Spending a week at a camp high on the side of the tallest mountain in North America can be grueling. Climbers tend to, want to, and somewhat need to hang onto weather forecasts to “keep hope alive.” It’s really hard when the forecasts aren’t great, which is what the team is seeing currently. Kudos to them for staying strong and digging in!
Here’s Stephan!
