May 12 Team at 11k Camp

Paloma called in this evening after a nice pizza dinner at Camp 2 (11,000ft). Today was a bit of a light duty day as they went back down the mountain with empty packs to pick up a cache they’d left 2 days prior and brought everything up to camp.  This is called a “back carry” day and is a way to break up the workload and acclimatization schedule for the expedition.  They’ll be using a similar strategy for moving their gear and themselves up the mountain to the next camp at 14k in the coming days.

Here’s Paloma checking in!
