The Schmidt Kilimanjaro team is at their first camp on the journey up Kilimanjaro. They began the trek this morning and ascended around 1,000 meters and 11km distance to the Machame Camp.

Here’s the update from Marcus this evening: “With bellies filled with French fries and banana fritters, we say goodnight at Machame Camp. The crew crushed it up the 11km, 1,000m vert through the rainforest. With views of the snowy summit, we look forward to going in the Moorland zone and climbing ever closer to the summit!
