Hello from the EBC team!
Today we moved from our quaintly perched tea house in Tengboche to Dingboche. A five-hour hike up the Khumbu valley took us out of the trees and into the alpine. Perched directly underneath Ama Dablam with a skyline full of 7,000-meter peaks and a few at 8,000 meters, Dingboche sits at 14,250 feet. Along the way we high-fived many Yaks and Zopyos (mix of cow and yak) making the same trek to supply villages with all their necessities. Our route took us by hundreds of beautifully crafted mani stones (a stone plate inscribed with mantras in a form of prayer in Tibetan Buddhism). After another incredible home-cooked meal at our teahouse, we are playing cards around the dinner table and planning our acclimatization hike for tomorrow!
