Kristin called in a quick update from High Camp after the team all arrived back down to a bit thicker air after a successful summit. They will take a bit of a rest at 17,200′ before descending back down to 14,200′. The team will likely take a bit more of a rest here, organize all of their gear and remaining supplies, and prepare for a long descent all the way back to base camp. Generally, teams push down from Camp Three to base camp in one go, 7,000′ of descending with sleds and packs through the alpenglow of night in the Alaska Range. They have a long walk ahead of them, but they will undoubtedly be fueled along by the lingering elation of reaching the summit!
Here’s Kristin!
Congratulations! Continuing to pray for safety as you descend.
