Nathan called in this evening from Camp 2 on Denali at 11,000 ft with the dispatch for the June 3 team. Today they had an easier day, descending just 1000ft to where they’d left a cache a couple of days ago, and bringing the load of food, fuel and equipment up to Camp 2. They’ll rest a bit this afternoon and then fit their crampons and get their ice axes ready for the steeper terrain they encounter on the route above. The goal for tomorrow will be to carry a load up to 13,500ft around Windy Corner to prepare for the move up to Camp 3 in a couple of days.
Here’s Nathan with the update from the team:
Sounds like you’re all smashing it! Love you
