The past few days have been a whirlwind for the May 28 Team. On the 28th the Team conducted a Team Meeting, equipment check, and shopped for last minute items in Anchorage. The next day they woke early, packed up, and drove a few hours north to the little town of Talkeetna. They had an orientation with the National Park Service, they organized and “weighed in” all of their gear for Talkeetna Air Taxi, our air services provider, and then……they waited. They had a small delay in Talkeetna for the weather to improve for the plans to be able to fly, and luckily the weather did improve and the team was able to make it to Base Camp with only a slight delay. Whew!
