Our heroes are taking a day to rest, acclimate, and recover today after carrying loads up to high camp yesterday. They are hoping to be able to go to the summit on the 9th, so they’ll move up to high camp tomorrow morning and get in position to take a shot at the top. It sounds like they are all doing well and entertaining themselves.

The view to the north, as seen by the team hiking to high camp. The 8th highest peak in the Andes, Cerro Mercedario (6700m) is visible 100km in the distance.
Here’s Peter with a really entertaining audio post.
