The April 22nd team called in to report on their work for the day, but equally importantly, to wish a Happy Birthday to someone’s younger brother Nick. I’m not sure who made the call, so any help identifying the proud older brother would be appreciated!
The team carried supplies up the part of the route known as the headwall. They utilized about 600′ of fixed lines to ascend this section, but it sounds like the headwall was icy, so it was pretty hard, grueling work. They will take a rest day on May 5, to recuperate and further acclimatize, before heading up the fixed lines again to move up to the site of high camp at 17,200′.
