Rest day at 11,000′

Joe Butler is piled into camp with no fewer than three other Mountain Trip expeditions, and after a hard day moving to 11 camp the team took a rest day yesterday to gather their strength for the next leg of the expedition.  11,000′ camp is tucked into a side glacier off the main flow of the Kahiltna, and once they leave it they will leave snowshoes and skis behind and strap on their crampons for the first time to head up Motorcycle Hill in order to put a cache of food and gear around Windy Corner at 13,500′.  Today is forecasted to bring heavy winds, so let’s hope that they get weather good enough to get something done in.
