The Mountain Trip December 14th Mount Vinson Expedition team is meeting today at the southern tip of South America in the port city of Punta Arenas, Chile.    They’ll spend the next couple of days making all of the last minute preparations, and checking their gear list one last time before hopping on a plane bound for Union Glacier base in the middle of the continent of Antarctica.  They are in for a great, cold adventure to one of the most remote and pristine places on the planet.  They’ll spend 2 weeks on the continent climbing to the top of Mount Vinson, the highest peak on the continent, and one of the famed 7 summits.

We’ll update trip dispatches from the team as they make their way to the top, and post audio files of satellite phone calls from the trip.  Follow along on their adventure!
