June 26th Team Headed Down

It continued to blow and snow up high on Denali yesterday, and the team finally decided to pack it up and head down.   It has been an extended period of terrible weather up high on the mountain (there have been several records broken for cold and rainfall in AK this summer…)   They descended to Camp 2 in snowy conditions last night, and plan to continue on to base camp today.  It’s been a tough season for weather, but the climbers put in a huge effort to be there and give it a good try.   They should be back in Talkeetna in the next day or two.
