The schuss of fresh powder, the weightless feeling as you transition between turns, the sense that magic does indeed exist…Ahhh, skiing!

Mountain Trip is a family of climbers and skiers. We love touring uphill on a crisp morning and long for the sound of climbing skins peeling off the bases of our skis, because that means we're about to point 'em downhill. Ski touring embodies our highly biased concept of something that has "soul." You work hard to get yourself to a place where there are tangible rewards for your efforts. A nice morning surf break might be a contender for backcountry powder, but as far as we're concerned- the jury is still out on that one.

We offer ski mountaineering trips on Denali and elsewhere in the Alaska Range. Our Ski Denali expeditions are currently offered as a private climb option. We will use skis to access Camp 2 and often carry them up to Camp 3 to partake of some of the great ski terrain above the broad Genet Basin. For the highly fit and skilled skier, the possibility of skiing from the summit of Denali is a definite possibility.

The Ruth Glacier offers amazing lower elevation ski mountaineering potential. We have been leading skiers on tours and mountaineering objectives in the Ruth for over 30 years. The wide variety of terrain affords ample opportunity for skiers of all abilities.
